This guy (girl) really made me chuckle. I didn't see it at first, but when I did, I was able to take lots of pictures. It didn't move a muscle at first, but eventually it's head would shift a bit to look at me.
Great colouration eh?

Without looking it up, my first guess is a bittern...
ya, sorry...american bittern I think.
they make a "gulping, swallowing" sound...when I made the same sound (well, approx) it walked away. I think I insulted it!
Don't feel bad - when I make gulping swallowing sounds, my family walks away from me!
