Little House in the Big Woods

Here we are in 2009, empty-nesters with nothing to do but watch the birds and try to keep warm during the long, cold winter! Good to see you, come back anytime, and if you are particularly daring, come up and visit...we'd love to see you.

GROSBEAKS ARE GRUMPY...BUT BEAUTIFUL TOO!

A flock of about 20 of these evening grosbeaks were fluttering around me this morning.
Got a couple of "action shots" as they fought over the seeds.

Great shots as usual. We don't seem to have anything but juncos right now and crows-lots of crows.

Here at higher elevations we are white with a dusting of snow and the plough has been out.
